How do we integrate cultural history into a modern building effectively and respectably?

I was a member of the design team for this K-8 school from early conceptual design through Construction Documentation. Early on I built massing study SketchUp models. As the design progressed I was part of the team drafting the Design Development Set and eventually built the final SketchUp Model for these renderings for the community members to see. Once the project was accepted I was on the team to finish out the Construction Set.

The Renderings were SketchUp images and Photoshop while and the drawing set was drafted in AutoCAD.
